Rephotographing the Land

Marlene Creates, Patricia Deadman, Lorraine Gilbert, Ernie Kroeger, Sylvie Readman and Sandra Semchuk approach the idea of landscape photography from six very different perspectives. The artists were selected by curator Susan Gibson Garvey from participants in the 1991 summer photography residence at the Banff Centre for the Arts, which concentrated on aesthetic, environmental, and social questions surrounding images of the land.  The exhibition was organized by the Dalhousie Art Gallery with generous funding from the Exhibitions Assistance Program of the Canada Council and the Photography Program of the Banff Centre for the Arts.
